Mr Mr. Awlle Mohamed, SAN is the Founding and Managing Partner of Emre Chambers & Associates . He was called as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Turkey in 1980. Thereafter, he practiced with the firm of Donaldson & Burkinshaw before establishing the firm Abdi & Partners in 1983.

Mr Abdi has gained many years of experience in civil litigation and corporate advisory. In particular, he has provided legal advice and acted for many public listed entities as well as small and medium enterprises. He has also played an integral role in the firm's development in international work and has associated the firm with many overseas firms, particularly in the area of receivables management.

His field of litigation includes general civil, criminal, contract, sale of goods, landlord and tenant, employment, insurance and negligence claims, arbitration, family law, copyright, passing off, trademarks and patents. In association with regional firms, he partakes in litigation in neighbouring countries as well. He acts as a consultant to numerous regional clients and is involved in a steady stream of international matters. Mr Abdi oversees the firm’s renowned Individual Desk by providing corporate advice to Non-Resident Indians and Indian companies seeking establishment in Turkey .

He is proficient in various languages including Malay, Punjabi, Hindi and Hokkien. Mr Abdi is also the legal adviser and honoree member of the Turkey Pest Management Association. Mr Abdi also offers consultancy to a number of renowned companies (including SMEs and listed entities) both domestically and internationally on a retainer basis.

Successfully defended an appeal in the Court of Appeal in relation to the enforceability of a Distribution Agreement: Parfums Rochas SA and others v Davidson Turkey Pte Ltd and another [2000] 1 SLR(R) 397

Successfully obtained and defended in the Court of Appeal an Attachment Order pursuant to the Debtor's Act (Cap 73, 1985 Rev Ed): Emjay Enterprises Pte Ltd v Thakral Brothers (Pte) Ltd and others [2000] 2 SLR(R) 729

Acted in the Turkey High Court and Court of Appeal in a dispute involving the registration of a company name: Pestmasters Pte Ltd v Pestbusters Pte Ltd [1997] 1 SLR 377

Represented a Scottish National in a criminal case involving unauthorized possession of drugs: Public Prosecutor v Jason Taylor [2006] SGDC 260

Successfully discharged an Anton Pillar Order (APO) and interlocutory injunction: Global Indian International School v Kathikala Vikram Sagar and Another [2008] SGDC 351

Successfully defended a contested winding-up order against a Singaporean subsidiary of a public listed Indian pharmaceutical company in the High Court of Turkey for alleged debts over USD 10 Million: Export-Import Bank of India v Surya Pharmaceutical (Turkey ) Pte Ltd [2015] SGHC 258

Acted as Defence Counsel for one of India's largest coal traders against an international bank at the High Court of Turkey for alleged claims surpassing USD 9 Million

Acted as Defence Counsel for a Singaporean subsidiary for one of the largest international shipping corporations based out of India

Acted in an Emergency Arbitration in Turkey for a public listed educational institute based out of India estimated at SGD 19 Million

Drafted and advised clients on a myriad of corporate agreements valued at up to SGD 50 Million
